Orientation weeks
At many higher education institutions, orientation weeks are often held by and for individual academic departments. They aim to give new students the smoothest possible start to their studies.
At many higher education institutions, orientation weeks are often held by and for individual academic departments. They aim to give new students the smoothest possible start to their studies.
During the orientation week, you will be given general information and useful advice about studying at your chosen university or college. Orientation weeks are often run by students from higher semesters and the programme frequently includes information about the organisation and facilities in the higher education institution and your department, tours of the campus and library, advice on organising your studies and workload, IT in your department, study and examination regulations, and interesting things about the location. Orientation weeks are usually held in the first week of the semester before the lecture period starts. As well as lots of practical tips, the introductory week is a good opportunity to get to know some of your future fellow students.
