    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution Due to increasing life expectancy, growing health awareness and technical innovations, medical technology is one of the key technologies in Germany. As an application of engineering in the field of medicine, it has become indispensable in many medical fields: For example, it plays a role in diagnosis in the derivation of biosignals (e.g. ECG), in imaging procedures (e.g. X-ray or ultrasound examinations) and in the determination of lung parameters or blood tests. It is also used in therapy, for example, for pacemakers, artificial kidneys and ventilators. In the digital age, the processing of patient data as well as signal analysis and image processing using various software is essential. Medical technicians are involved in the development, operation and maintenance of a wide variety of devices and systems.
