    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The Bachelor's degree in Education and Teaching is aimed at students interested in a career in teaching at primary schools OR intermediate schools and German lower secondary schools.

The Bachelor's degree course qualifies students to enter a profession. Professional qualification, particularly for activities within the professional fields of education associated with school and non-school education in the pre-school, primary and secondary I sectors, is based on the acquisition of well-founded academic skills related to Music, the respective combination subject and to Educational Sciences.

The course of study is divided into two teaching subjects, whereby Music must be chosen as one of the subjects for the later career goal of TEACHING AT PRIMARY SCHOOLS, alongside English, German or Mathematics.
In the case of the later career goal of TEACHING AT INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS AND GERMAN LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOLS, the study of Music is compulsory unless German, English, French (only with focus on German lower secondary schools), Art, Mathematics or Physics is chosen as an alternative.

Depending on the respective career goal, Music can be combined with the subjects of Biology (career goal of teaching at intermediate schools and German lower secondary schools only), German, English, Protestant Religion, French (career goal of teaching at German lower secondary schools only), History (career goal of teaching at intermediate schools and German lower secondary schools only), Islamic Religion, Catholic Religion, Art, Mathematics, Physics, General Studies (career goal of teaching at primary schools only), Sport or Textile Design.

The study programme with the core curriculum (KCL-BEU) also includes an inter-disciplinary professional qualification area that must be completed. The course of study involves two placements of at least nine weeks in total.
