    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The degree programme in Economics at the University of Osnabrück is characterised by a flexible structure, relevant and up-to-date course content and close proximity to the professors.
Under the umbrella of a study programme, students can choose between focusing on Business Administration (BWL) and International Economics (VWL). The option of studying economics without committing to one of the two orientations is also very popular: in this way, different subjects can be combined particularly flexibly with each other.

In addition to the focal area, one of the following key areas can also be chosen:
      • Sustainability, Behaviour and Environmental Policy
      • Management
      • Business Informatics
      • Money and Financial Markets
      • Accounting, Finance and Taxes
      • Quantitative Business Administration

A specific orientation or a focus is decided on in the fourth semester. In this way, students have enough time in the first three to four semesters to get to know the subjects from both focuses – business administration and international economics. A concrete specialisation can therefore be selected in a particularly well-founded manner after one's own interests and goals have been determined.
An internship with a duration of at least three months can be credited to the course of study. Numerous opportunities for a practice-based seminar or final dissertation are also offered to students due to the lecturers’ industry contacts and research projects. Contacts to potential employers can be established at an early stage. Cooperations with economic research institutes and partnerships with international universities are also in place.
