    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The special profile of the Master's degree course in Economics at the University of Osnabrück is the combination of a broad-based economics education and training with the possibility of individual specialisation. The subject areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, international economic policy, statistics/econometrics and environmental economics offer a broad spectrum of in-depth lectures.

The course language of the Master's degree course in Economics is English; some optional components are offered in German. Proof of German language skills is not required for the application.

Certain combinations of subjects can be used to selectively focus on Empirical Economics or on Sustainability, Behaviour and Environmental Policy.

A wide range of empirical and application-oriented methods and their uses are taught with the help of relevant software. Areas of application are found in the fields of international economic policy, public finance and financing in particular.
The Master's degree course therefore has a distinct professionally qualifying character and provides an excellent basis for entering highly qualified and demanding professional areas in research and educational institutions, political and politically-related institutions as well as in trade associations and chambers of commerce, consultancy firms and internationally operating large companies.

Of course, the Master's degree also opens up the opportunity to do a doctorate and, with the appropriate course planning/fulfilment of the relevant requirements, admission to any possible doctorate and therefore the path to an academic career.
