    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The economic use of energy reserves, the safe production and handling of materials, and the protection of the environment are becoming increasingly important worldwide. Safety and environmental protection are indispensable elements of industrial society. The acceptance of technical processes in a modern society depends strongly on the identification and technical control of the associated risks and the minimization of their effects on the environment. To achieve these goals, experts are needed who have both a deep engineering understanding and specific knowledge of safety aspects and environmental technologies. The Master's degree programme in Process Safety and Environmental Engineering trains experts for industry, authorities, research institutions and academia. Graduates of this course are trained in the scientific foundations of technical processes, with in-depth training in the fundamentals relating to environmental and safety aspects. Environmental and safety aspects are considered holistically with regard to hazard assessment, minimisation and avoidance. Graduates of the degree programme will always be able to make optimal use of their engineering knowledge for safety and environmental issues and find appropriate solutions.
