  • Areas of Concentration Advanced research design and research methods, Biomechanics of Strength and Conditioning, Coaching and training the elite athlete, Competitive Sports, Medicine and physiology in high-performance sport, Recovery management and sports nutrition, Science and medicine in football, Socio-economics of elite sport (e.g. economic and social conditions of sporting success, doping prevention), Sport Psychology, Talent identification and development

    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution The programme provides students with the knowledge and skills to work with elite athletes, coaches and sporting organizations. It combines basic research and practice in elite sports with a strong international perspective. Graduates are qualified to undertake advanced academic research (e. g. doctoral research for a PhD degree).
      Erasmus collaborations exist with Liverpool John Moores University (United Kingdom) and the University of Groningen (Netherlands). The University of Technology Sydney (Australia) and Saarland University are in the process of finalising a joint Masters programme, that will lead to a double degree.
