    • Annotation of the Higher Education Institution Building on the bachelor's or diploma degree, the Applied Health Sciences degree course qualifies students for independent scientific work in various fields of health care and health-related scientific disciplines through its focus on quantitative and qualitative research methods.

      Students will be further qualified in reflective and evidence-based practice. In addition, the Master's degree programme provides access to planning and conceptual work in the field of health care, direct patient care (especially in complex care situations) as well as to further scientific qualification, e.g. within the framework of a PhD or doctoral programme.

    • Admission to the Master's degree programme in Applied Health Sciences requires the completion of a degree programme and proof of 180 ECTS credits.
      The completed course of study can be completed in the fields of nursing, health, therapy or health-related social sciences.
      In addition, knowledge in the following areas must be demonstrated:
      Research methods and statistics, evidence-based research and practice/epidemiology or health services research (involving at least 6 ECTS credits), and
      Health care measures in the areas of: Prevention/health promotion, therapy/rehabilitation, palliation/disease management or family/women's or children's health/reproductive health (worth at least 6 ECTS credits).

    • Completion of first university degree Bachelor/Bakkalaureus
      (and other qualifications, provided that they are recognised as being equivalent)

      Minimum requirements for first university degree:
      • Minimum number of semesters: 6 semesters
      • Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters
      • Required ECTS credits: 180
